Happy Captain – at the Forefront of Boater Education
Have you ever attempted to find private, on-the-water instruction for yourself and your family that works with your schedule, when and where you need it? It’s difficult at best.
Offerings are certainly available, but programs are hard to find and limited in availability with abstract curriculum. Then the classes are often at remote locations, on a “training” vessel, and on waters that you are unfamiliar with.
While providing local boaters on-the-water instruction for years under West End Charters and similar brands, it became obvious that boating instruction needed to evolve. Meaningful instruction needs to be easily available, convenient, standardized, repeatable, and scalable to the recreational boater nationwide. That’s why we have founded Happy-Captain and created our boater education series. We provide a best-in-class, easily recognizable product, with a clear curriculum available to you—based on your schedule, on your boat, at your location.
The modules we developed for our boater education series are based on the ABYC national standard and are offered to you at your convenience, on your boat, on your waterway. Gone are the days when you have to clear your schedule, travel to an unfamiliar lake, and board an unfamiliar boat, just to take a canned lesson that may have little bearing on your actual boating conditions. Happy-Captain’s on-the-water education series is designed to scale to unlimited locations nationwide and the lessons are professionally designed for brand new boaters and veterans alike. Lessons are private, repeatable, and—although each lesson builds on experience of a previous lesson—one can choose to participate at any level they desire. The lessons and reporting are uniform, so students can continue lessons at multiple locations without any set-backs. With this progressive thinking, it is our plan to become the premier offering for best-in-class professional education for the recreational boater.
Happy-Captain continually analyzes data based on new and existing boat registration as well as other factors in order to guide and inform our expansion locations, attracting qualified instructors on the lakes and waterways near you! Our ever-growing family of instructors are vetted through our on-boarding process, trained on our curriculum, and are ready to serve you. In fact, if we are not yet operating in your area, please contact us and we may prioritize your lake or waterway as our next location.
We look forward to welcoming you and your boat to the Happy Captain family!
